This Week in Garden Grove: City Council, Night Markets, & Community Events

Hi Garden Grove, Mason Tran here with your Local Voices roundup of what’s going on around town today and in the coming days. Mark your calendar—the city is buzzing with events for all ages.

Today

City Council Meeting—6:30 pm at the Community Meeting Center (11300 Stanford Ave). This regular meeting addresses public comments on issues like the budget, housing, and street projects. Free and open to all; agendas are posted a few days ahead.

Family Storytime—10:30 am at Garden Grove Regional Library, 11200 Stanford Ave. Toddlers and preschoolers can enjoy songs, stories, and a craft. Free and family friendly.

Upcoming This Week

Garden Grove Farmers Market—Thursday, 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at Main Street & Village Green (12732 Main St). Local growers, hot food vendors, flowers, and fresh bread—bring your reusable bag.

Korean Barbecue & Karaoke Night—Friday at 8:00 pm in the Koreatown corridor along Garden Grove Blvd between Brookhurst St and Magnolia Ave. Pair up BBQ with private noraebang—it’s one of our favorite food-and-nightlife combos.

Weekend Highlights

Christ Cathedral Campus Tour—Saturday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at 13280 Chapman Ave. Free docent-led walk around the glass cathedral, Tower of Hope, and memorial gardens. Great for architecture lovers and seekers of calm.

Little Saigon Night Market—Saturday, 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm along Bolsa Ave near Brookhurst. Street food, skewers, banh mì, live music stages—it’s a weekend staple, food-centric and lively.

Save the Date

Mid-Autumn Festival—Friday, September 25 at the Asian Garden Mall in Little Saigon. Lantern processions, mooncakes, lion dancing, community gathering for the autumn moon traditions.

Community Cleanup Day—Saturday, September 26, 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Hosted by the city and sanitation partners; a chance to help clear bulky items and beautify neighborhoods.

Tips for Getting Out

  • Check event times and locations beforehand—some happen rain or shine.
  • Bring cash for small vendors; some night-market booths may not take cards.
  • For kids: storytime and cathedral tours are great shorter outings; markets offer sensory plus food education.

That’s what’s coming up around town. If you hear of an event you think Garden Grove should know about, drop me a note—happy to spotlight your upcoming gathering.
